The Wenga Postie Bike Project -> The rebuild

The rebuild

Methodology

The original aim of the wenga postie bike project was to rebuild two bikes. After evaluating the available parts, it was decided to concentrate on building one bike. All of the unecessary parts, such as spare front forks, wheels etc, are in the process of being sold on ebay.

The aim for the rebuild is to do the following

The aim isn't to do a ground-up restoration to standard, nor is it to do it on the cheap. We want a good bike; it needs to look (and go) very nicely indeed. So, we're not going to talk too much about budget, although I'll provide rough cost estimates along the way.

This page will document all of these aspects, plus others. To make it easier to digest, I've split it into pages.

Update 26/05/2008

We've decided to just get it back together, which is enough of an ask when you're starting with four boxes of parts. If we decide to keep the rebuilt bike then I'll strip it back properly and powdercoat the frame etc.
